“ARMY NEWSWATCH”

a.  Sponsors:  Army Newswatch is Soldier's Radio and TV's premier television news program.  Army Newswatch takes a comprehensive look at what's happening throughout the Army including news from the ARNG and the USAR.  This award winning television newscast is produced by Soldiers for Soldiers.  Newswatch focuses on the issues, the equipment and the people that make The Army what it is today.  This one hour program to be shown the first week of each new month will feature a "doubleheader" of two Army Newswatch programs produced the previous month.

b.  Availability:  These FREE non-scrambled, public domain programs will be on the Military/Federal GETN/Warrior satellite networks whose downlinks are found at USA and USAF installations and at over 300+ National Guard locations at JFHQs and ANG bases.  It will also be available on C/KU analog satellite receivers.  Limited terrestrial videoconferencing connectivity for selected military sites may also be available through special arrangement on the USA TNET, or Navy CNET videoconferencing networks.  ARNG DTTP VTC connectivity may also be available through special arrangement with the DTTP VOC Operations Center.  Local site use coordination of satellite downlinks will be required.  Contact Ed Kronholm’s office at 877-820-0305 if you have a question or problem locating a site.

c.  Target Audience Statement:  This program is targeted to active duty and reserve component Soldiers, their dependents and anyone else with an interest in what is happening throughout The Army.

This program is a one-on-one interview with GEN Schoomaker hosted by SFC Jose Velazquez.  Interview was conducted at the Pentagon.  In the interview the CSA talks about; his return to active duty as the 35th Army Chief of Staff; his 16 areas of focus for the Army and “The Way Ahead” for a Relevant and Ready Army; the Warrior Ethos and the importance of quality Soldiers vs. quantity of Soldiers.
