a.  Sponsors:  This program is sponsored for Military and Federal GETN subscribers by the School of Public Health, University at Albany, SUNY, Center for Public Health Preparedness and Department of Defense Medical Interagency Satellite Program with the  technical support of the Satellite Education Network (SEN) at Ft. Lee, VA. 
 

b.  Availability:  This free, public domain, pre-recorded broadcast will be available on  the GETN Military/GETN/Warrior digital CDV satellite networks.  There is no C/KU satellite availability for this program. (Note: This program WILL NOT be available on small digital dish networks such as DirecTV or Echostar systems.)  They will be not available as a webcast.  Limited VTC availability may be available for military and federal sites only depending on bridge capacities.

c.  Target Audience Statement:  Military and Federal health professionals and national audience of state and local public health professionals and their partners (e.g., healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, law enforcement, media representatives, etc).

d.  Program  Summary:  The goal of this program is to provide public health professionals and their community partners across the country with information necessary to understand, prepare for and manage situations involving isolation and quarantine.

Objectives:  At the conclusion of the presentation, the participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the legal and social complexities surrounding isolation and quarantine isolation and quarantine measures
  2. Recognize the extensive planning needs required to implement isolation and quarantine measures
  3. Understand the importance of coordinating with community partners and other responders prior to and during the organization and enforcement of isolation.
