d. Program Summary and Objectives: The National Terrorism Preparedness Institute (NTPI) at St. Petersburg College (SPC) presents "Live Response". This edition of "Live Response" is a 60 minute live discussion in which a panel of experts explores topics related to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) consequence management and engages in question and answer sessions with the program audience.
This Live Response program "Perimeter Security When Victims are Present " explains the importance of recognizing a terrorist incident and knowing the physical characteristics of WMD agents or materials that could be reported by victims at the scene. Responders need to know how to establish site security and control, as well as protect evidence, while simultaneously assisting victims who need medical care. They must know how to appropriately isolate contaminated victims and be prepared to decontaminate them at the site. Decontamination must be done in such a way that it does not disturb potential evidence.
Live Response expert guests welcome viewer questions concerning medical monitoring of response personnel and invite viewers to call, e-mail, or fax their questions during the broadcast.
