Inter-Agency Satellite Schedule of Programs for 1st Quarter of FY 2007
As of 31 December 2006

(Current Programming Calendar List)

NOTE: This satellite program listing IS NOT an all-inclusive listing of all known satellite programming.  It is a representative listing of free, interagency satellite programming whose delivery is coordinated by our offices for primarily Federal and Military downlink sites that use digital compressed video (CDV) satellite downlinks within the Military/Federal Government Education and Training (GETN) satellite networks. GETN Networks are closed, private, encrypted satellite networks.   Some programs may also be available to non-military or non- federal civilian sites via analog C/Ku satellite downlinks that are found at many civilian locations and some military/federal sites.  Please carefully note the available delivery modalities in the "Platform" column before registering for any particular program to ensure your site has the necessary equipment to receive the program.   This listing is provided merely as a public service to the military/ federal communities at large.  All program dates and times are subject to change without notice at the discretion of the broadcast sponsor(POC is Ed Kronholm; 1-480-730-1388 or email; edkronholm@aol.com. )

Programs from the FY04 have been removed and archived at itv04.htm.                                    Programs from the FY05 have been removed and archived at itv05.htm.

Have you ever found yourself in a conflict, either professional or personal, with no idea how to get out of it without simply surrendering or fighting back?  Just how is it that conflict seems to arise so often?  With all the attention that “win-win” approaches get these days, is collaboration always  the best way to resolve differences?  Is there an element that is common to both collaborating with partners and resolving differences with them?  This session will include a discussion of conflict, conflict resolution, and collaboration, and how they are all tightly related.

Scientists predict that the world is due for an influenza pandemic-a global outbreak from a new strain of flu-that would have a dramatic impact on our nation's communities, schools, and families.  History tells us that flu pandemics are a reality: in the past century alone, three of them caused widespread loss of life and the wholesale disruption of societies small and large.  A flu outbreak today similar to the one that occurred in 1918 could potentially kill millions and profoundly affect institutions such as our nation’s school systems, which are teeming with children who are expected to have high rates of infection and are more likely than adults to spread the illness.

Why Preconception Care?  1)  Poor pregnancy outcomes continue to be at un-acceptable levels;  2)  Women enter pregnancy “At Risk” for adverse outcomes; 3)  We currently intervene too late; 4)  Intervening before pregnancy will help improve outcomes; 5)  There is consensus that we must act before pregnancy.

"When it comes to foreign languages, our students get started too late-and too few study critical languages. We can and must turn this around."

The benefits of studying foreign languages are many and well known.  In a world where our security and economic, diplomatic and political success depend on mutual respect and cultural understanding, it is vital that American students learn foreign languages-especially "critical need" languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Farsi.

An influenza pandemic occurs when a new virus emerges for which people have little or no immunity, and for which there is no vaccine.  The disease spreads easily from person-to-person, causes serious illness, and can sweep across the country and around the world in a very short time.  While it is difficult to predict when the next influenza pandemic will occur, during the past 100 years, there have been three major pandemics: 1918-1919, 1957-1958, and 1968-1969.
