c.  Target Audience Statement:  Primary target audiences for this program will include law enforcement officials, drug prevention specialists, Drug-Free Communities Act grantees, administrators, school drug counselors, high school athletic officials, treatment providers, drug court members, policy makers, business leaders, coalition volunteers, drug demand reduction coordinators, criminal justice professionals, members of the religious community and other community partners who may be interested.  This program is also suitable for Public Access television distribution.

d.  Program Summary and Objectives:  Methamphetamine is getting lots of media attention recently, but is it really the "hot drug" in your community?  Young people and others are using many different kinds of drugs to get high, some you may not have even heard of.  How do you know what is really causing the problems in your community? It might be the drug that's the most well-known, or it might not be.

During this hour-long broadcast, take a look at statistics about what the problems are in different parts of the country.  Learn about tools that will help you see the patterns about who is doing what and where.  See how one coalition is making a difference, and can prove it.  Learn how to use their ideas in your community.

Also, see how epidemiology, a big word that doesn't have to be frightening, can help you prove your point so you and your coalition can be proactive instead of reactive in the fight against drugs.

Learning Objectives:

-          See what the drug trends are around the country
-
Learn what epidemiology is and how it can help you
-
See how one coalition is getting outcomes, and how you can too
